Former Oshawa figure skater chosen as judge for world championships
Oshawa’s Don Jackson, a decorated figure skater and Olympic medalist, has been chosen as a judge for the upcoming World Figure Championship on Aug. 28 and 29 in Lake Placid.
Jaskson’s history in the sport dates back to the 1960s, which saw him win a bronze medal at the Olympics in California. Along with creating Jackson figure skates, Jackson is also the first person to land a triple lutz jump, a feat he accomplished at the 1962 World Championships.
