Find yourself a furry friend
Those looking to add a furry companion to their family are invited to Oshawa Animal Service’s second-annual Pawsitively Purrfect open house.
On Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the open house at 919 Farewell St. will provide plenty of fun activities for kids to enjoy, as well as opportunities to hold and play with cats in the cat room or take a dog for a walk.
“The open house at Oshawa’s Animal Services is a great opportunity for everyone to visit with the cats and dogs at our shelter,” states Councillor Bob Chapman, chair of the community services committee, in a news release. “There’s lots of fun activities for the whole family and who knows, you may find that furry friend you were looking for.”
The shelter on Farewell Street is home to about 100 animals at any given time, with daily care provided by onsite staff and a regular visiting veterinarian. Last year saw more than 275 animals find new homes.
