Fill one empty bowl, fill another

Feed the Need in Durham is inviting the community to the sixth annual Durham’s Empty Bowls as they raise awareness and funds to alleviate hunger in the region.
The event will be hosted at the Oshawa Golf And Curling Club, 160 Alexandria Street, on Saturday, Oct. 26 from noon to 2 p.m.
Tickets are available through the Feed The Need in Durham office by calling 905-581-3863, or at www.eventbrite.ca/e/durhams-empty-bowls-2019-tickets-66889970703
Chefs from around the region will come together under one roof with their signature dishes and desserts.
Every bowl filled will help fill the bowls of those in need in the community.
Sponsors on site include The Shrimp Cocktail, Port, Bistro 67, Berry Hill Food Co., and more.
Cheryl Ireland will provide live music and craft beer sampling with Town Brewery.
Attendees choose their favourite uniquely handcrafted pottery bowl, donated by the Durham Potters Guild, for their sampling.
Door prizes and a silent auction will help to raise funds at the event.
“This is our sixth annual Empty Bowls fundraiser and we are thrilled by the continued support from our community for this event,” says executive director Ben Earle. “This is a unique and inspiring way for us to work with our local culinary community as we acknowledge and bring awareness to hunger in our community.”
