Emergency repair at reservoir
Oshawa’s Hortop Reservoir’s rooftop and support columns needed emergency repairs conducted on them at the end of 2015, according to a report to be presented at the Feb. 3 meeting of the region’s works committee.
The cracks were discovered while it was being drained as part of a regional infrastructure inspection. As it is costly and time consuming to drain the 27.3-million litre reservoir, the repairs were made right away, being completed on Dec. 19 before the reservoir was put back into service 10 days later.
