Easter Egg Extravaganza returns to Kids’ Safety Village

The Easter egg hunt is back on at the Kids’ Safety Village of Durham Region.

The event was cancelled last year due to the reconstruction of the facility, but the doors are now open and children of all ages are welcome to attend this annual celebration.

The Easter Egg Extravaganza runs on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The event, to be held rain or shine, features an Easter egg hunt which begins at 10 a.m., face painting, games for kids, colouring and a visit from the Easter Bunny. All children will receive chocolate treats.

There are also safety displays and you can chat with the Regional Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator as well as representatives from the Ministry of Transportation, Road Watch, Fire Services, Go Transit, Bell Canada and other community partners!

The windows of the buildings in the Village have been decorated so patrons can stroll through, plus a Senior’s Ukulele group will be doing a sing-a-long.

There will be a fundraising BBQ operated by the local Lions Club with a nominal cost for hot dogs, treats and drinks.

The event is free, however should you wish to bring along non-perishable food items for the local food bank or cash donations for the operation of the Safety Village, these would be most welcome.

The Kids’ Safety village of Durham Region is located at 1129 Athol St, Whitby.

The event is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood, Bell Canada, Lovell Drugs, Sweetsby’s Canada Catering and Gifts, Lions Club of Whitby, Ajax Optimist Club, Durham Regional Police Service and all of the volunteers of the Kids’ Safety Village of Durham Region.
