Durham police sign lease for Durham Kids’ Safety Village
Durham Region Police are just the latest group to sign their name on the dotted line for a 20-year lease at the Durham Kids’ Safety Village.
“The programs at the Kids’ Safety Village saves children’s lives,” states Chief Paul Martin, Durham’s chief of police, in a news release. “More than 15,000 children visit each year. That’s thousands of children who get to learn about roadway safety, railway safety and pedestrian behaviour.”
The announcement from Durham police coincided with the grand reopening of the safety village, and comes on the heels of Metrolinx renewing its commitment to the facility late last month.
