Drunk driving arrest outside police HQ
An Oshawa woman is facing several charges following an accident outside of police headquarters in Whitby.
At approximately 1 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20, officers responded to a two-vehicle collision at Rossland Road East and Garden Street, steps away from the headquarters of Durham police. A black GMC pickup heading east on Rossland struck another eastbound car, sending it off the road where it rolled and hit a tree.
The driver of the car who hit the tree was taken to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck was arrested at the scene, and later taken to hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
A 24-year-old woman of Oakwood Avenue in Oshawa has been charged with impaired operation of a vehicle, exceeding 80mg of alcohol and driving without a licence.
