Drug deal turns to mugging

What started off as a drug-related transaction for one Oshawa teen resulted in him getting robbed at gunpoint.

Durham police responded to the area of Taunton Road East and Ritson Road North at approximately 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9 after receiving a call for a robbery. According to police, the 16-year-old victim had met three male suspects in a pizza store at the northeast corner of the intersection before walking to the back of the plaza. There, one suspect pointed a silver handgun at the victim and robbed him of his cellphone. The three suspects ran west toward Ritson.

The victim was not physically injured.

The first suspect is described as male, black, 20 years old, six feet tall and had long matted hair. He was last seen wearing a grey, baggy jacket with red on the sleeves.

The second suspect is described as male, black, 15 years old, five feet and eight inches tall and had an afro.

The third suspect is described as male, black, 19 years old, approximately six feet and four inches tall, thin build and has an afro.
