Domestic-related incident leads to stabbing
A 34-year-old male is facing charges after one person was stabbed and another threatened with a knife in Oshawa on Friday.
On March 16 at approximately 6:30 p.m. officers responded to a residence in the Wentworth Street and Oxford Street area of Oshawa after reports of a stabbing. A female had been threatened with a knife outside her home after refusing entry to her ex-boyfriend. She returned to her unit and the male persisted by banging on the door. A male friend of another tenant inside the unit exited and was stabbed in the chest by the suspect. The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The suspect was later arrested and charged.
A 34-year-old male of no fixed address, is charged with aggravated assault, two counts of weapons dangerous, two counts of breach of probation, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
He was held for a bail hearing. His name is withheld to protect the identity of the female.
