Crystal meth seized
Two Oshawa males are facing several charges after police seized more than $15,000 worth of crystal methamphetamine.
In September 2015, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit were investigating a male suspected of selling the drug. As part of the investigation, dubbed Project Shrigley, an undercover officer was able to purchase more than 75 grams of crystal methamphetamine on several occasions. During the course of the investigation, a second suspect who acted as a supplier was identified.
On Oct. 27, search warrants were executed at apartment units on St. Lawrence Street and Bloor Street East in Oshawa, resulting in an additional 26 grams of methamphetamine being seized.
A 53-year-old male of Bloor Street East has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of cocaine.
A 50-year-old male of St. Lawrence Street has been charged with six counts in trafficking a Schedule 1 controlled substance, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of the proceeds of crime.
