Clarington man arrested for luring a child

A Clarington man is facing several charges after making arrangements to meet a 15-year-old female for sex.

Members of Durham police’s Internet Child Exploitation unit arrested the man in the parking lot of an Oshawa movie theatre, where the meeting was scheduled to take place. Police say the man was arrested without incident.

Investigators want to ensure there are no other victims, and are asking anyone to come forward if they or someone they know has been communicating with a male identifying themselves as “Todd.”

A 48-year-old male of Taunton Road in Clarington has been charged with luring a child to facilitate sexual interference, luring a child to make child pornography, invitation to sexual touching and exposing genitals to a person under the age of 16.
