Cheer to win

With Roger’s Hometown Hockey set to take over a portion of the city at the end of December, Oshawa is looking for local teams to show their hockey spirit.

Community teams playing ice hockey, sledge hockey, field hockey, ball hockey or ringette are being called to upload 10 to 20 second videos of their team cheer to www.hometownhockey.com/contest.

The top five teams with the most votes will be invited to take part in the Hometown Hockey festivities on Dec. 26 and 27 and the winning team will be put in the running for a trip to an NHL game with a VIP Game Day Experience, as well as the chance to perform their cheer in an NHL dressing room.

The deadline for video submissions is Monday, Dec. 21.
