Charges laid in mid-February crash

An Oshawa woman is facing several charges after a mid-February car crash left three people seriously injured.

At approximately 3 a.m. on Feb. 10, a Volkswagen Jetta lost control on Simcoe Street North near Robert Street and went off the road, hitting a tree before hitting an apartment building. Three of the car’s five occupants suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Two of the passengers remain in hospital.

Police arrested the car’s driver on Feb. 26.

A 24-year-old woman of Mitchell Avenue in Oshawa is facing two charges each of impaired driving causing bodily harm, exceeding 80 mgs of alcohol in blood while causing bodily harm and dangerous driving causing bodily harm, as well as one charge each of impaired driving, exceeding 80mgs of alcohol in blood and dangerous driving.
