Car hit by GO bus after running red light
An Oshawa woman was treated for serious injuries after her car was hit by a GO Transit bus.
At approximately 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, police responded to the area of Bond Street East and Ritson Road for a vehicle collision. Police say a northbound red Chevrolet Cruze failed to stop at a red light on Ritson Road, driving into the path of a westbound bus.
The car’s passenger, a 20-year-old Oshawa female, had to be extricated from the car by Oshawa Fire Services before being taken to hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries
The bus’ driver and three passengers were not injured.
The driver of the Cruze, an 18-year-old Oshawa female, was charged with failing to stop at a red light.
