Women’s softball: Lords fall in first conference game
The Durham College women’s softball team is no longer undefeated in regular season play after splitting their Sunday doubleheader with the Fanshawe Falcons.
Durham opened the day with a 4-3 victory before falling 8-2 in the second half of the doubleheader at Durham Field.
Samantha MacCallum earned the win on the mound, allowing one run over five innings on six hits and a walk. Sara Pesonen threw two innings in relief to close the game. She allowed two runs on four hits, while striking out two.
Melissa McKnight was a leader at the plate against for the Lords by going 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
