Uber driver arrested for impaired driving
A 36-year-old male Uber driver was arrested for impaired driving after operating a motor vehicle with a fare in the backseat in Oshawa.
On Feb. 7, at approximately 2:20 a.m., an officer from Central East observed a black van on Simcoe Street and William Street in Oshawa.
According to police, the vehicle was observed swerving in and out of lanes, at one point driving into oncoming traffic.
The driver was stopped and arrested for being impaired by drug. There was a customer in the backseat at the time of the offence. She did not suffer any injuries.
The driver was charged with operation while impaired by drug. He was later released on a promise to appear.
