The Tea Party rocking out in Oshawa
Having already played to several sold out crowds during The Black River Tour, the Tea Party are bringing their own style of rock to Oshawa.
The Tea Party is coming to the Oshawa Music Hall on April 17, their third major tour since reuniting in 2011.
The Canadian band has hit cities including Halifax, Moncton, and London in the first half of their tour, with most shows having sold out.
The tour began in Toronto, and will end in Los Angeles, California on May 18.
The band is touring with special guests the Proud Sons, a country-rock band from Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The Tea Party has been active since 1990, with a break up in 2005. The band reunited in 2011 and has been touring ever since.
The band consists of three members, Jeff Martin on guitar and vocals, Stuart Chatwood on bass and keyboard, and Jeff Burrows on drums. All three are original band members.
They have released eight total albums, with over 2 million records sold worldwide. They have had four double-platinum, one platinum, and four gold albums in Canada.
The band has also achieved a number one single on the Canadian charts with their song “Heaven Coming Down.”
The Tea Party has toured Canada 21 times, and Australia on 12 occasions.
Their last album titled “The Ocean at the End” was released in 2014, and came out 10 years after their last album before their break up.
In total they have been nominated for 22 MuchMusic Video Awards, and have won three People’s Choice Awards for favourite music video, including one for “The River” and one for “The Bazaar.”
Their most recent single, “Black River,” was released on Nov. 9, 2018.
Tickets to see the Tea Party and the Proud Sons are $39.50 in advance, and doors open at 7:30 p.m. for the 19+ event.
