Teen driver flees from police

An Oshawa teen is facing numerous charges after a car chase in the city over the weekend.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, police attempted to pull over a suspected impaired driver at Athabasca Street in Oshawa. The vehicle didn’t stop and continued to drive erratically over the front lawns of several homes and almost hitting a hydro pole. The car was eventually stopped and its driver arrested.

A 19-year-old Oshawa male has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, exceeding 80 mg of alcohol per 100mL of blood, failure to stop for police and taking a motor vehicle without consent in connection with this incident.
