Synthetic marijuana, replica gun seized from car

An Oshawa man is facing several charges after drugs and a replica handgun were found in a car in Pickering.

An officer was conducting traffic enforcement on Kingston Road on Tuesday, May 17 when a vehicle was spotted without proper headlights. When the car was stopped, the officer noticed the smell of burnt marijuana. A further investigation lead to the seizure of a synthetic form of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a bottle of vodka and a replica 9mm handgun with blank rounds, which turned out to be an air pistol.

A 21-year-old Oshawa male has been charged with driving without a proper headlight, driving with liquor readily available, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace.
