Slew of charges for Oshawa man following traffic stop
An Oshawa man is facing a number of charges after police found him driving a stolen vehicle on June 18.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., police observed a vehicle entering a parking lot in the area of Farewell Street and Hoskin Avenue in Oshawa. Police soon determined the vehicle was stolen, and following a short pursuit, the vehicle was blocked in by cruisers in the area of Ritson Road North and Hillcroft Street. The driver was arrested and a search of the stolen vehicle uncovered a quantity of drugs and stolen property.
A 24-year-old man of no fixed address in Oshawa is charged with: three counts of failing to comply with probation order, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, dangerous operation of motor vehicle, failing to stop for police, possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. He was held for a bail hearing.
