Robber caught red handed

A man is facing several charges after police caught him trying to break into a convenience store.

At approximately 4:45 a.m. on Friday, May 19, police were called to the Hortop Mini Mart and Dry Cleaning store, just west of Simcoe Street North and Rossland Road East, after receiving a call about a suspicious person and a possible broken window. Officers arrived at the scene to find that the glass in the front door of the store had been broken and that there was a man inside. He was arrested without incident.

A 34-year-old male of no fixed address has been charged with break and enter into a commercial property and breach of probation in connection with this incident.
