Reader calls for RCMP to investigate feds
Dear Editor,
It has become very obvious that the Liberals in Ottawa have no concern for law and order. It is their way or the highway.
They have admitted that they have repeatedly “applied pressure” to the then-Attorney General to go easy on a Quebec-based corporation that because of their past legal history do not qualify for a special deal to escape punishment for one of their bribery convictions.
Our Criminal Code does not allow for any pressure to be allied by politicians, or anybody working for them, towards the judiciary to reach another conclusion, no matter what the reason. Potential job losses are not relevant, and are not allowed as a reason to interject. It is so written. What is so difficult to understand?
What they did, 20 times at least, is illegal, period.
The job losses that they keep harping about as an excuse for their behavior are not in jeopardy anyway as they are highly skilled jobs and would be in big demand by other companies competing for the same contracts. No, the real job losses that they worry about is their own jobs – MPs in Quebec ridings in the next election. Liberal seats is all they really care about, and getting elected again is their only real concern.
Yesterday, they cut a meeting short, the purpose of which was to vote on whether to allow the ex-AG to come back to answer more questions that she could not the first time. Now it will be held on budget day, where they will lavish freebies on a gullible voting public to garner votes next October to hopefully keep them in power, so the meeting in question will be “in camera” away from prying eyes, and they will, with the Liberal-dominated panel, vote not to allow her back to speak, and they hope it will all go away then, and people will forget about it all and talk of nothing but the wonderful budget that will fix everything.
The stench is overpowering!
What does it take for the RCMP to investigate? How much evidence do they require?
How many millions did they spend investigating Mike Duffy and laying charges that were found to be false, as he was only guilty of paying back taxpayers for going over budget. The nerve. Compared to this obvious admitted crime, that was a complete sham and waste of taxpayers money.
Where are they now, when there is a need for some real law enforcement?
What about that old cliché ” The Mounties always get their man?” What are you waiting for, for the election to come and go?
This is not Venezuela yet, but with these tactics being used, we are not out of the realm.
Without our Criminal Code followed to the letter, we are nothing but another banana republic.
This is not what thousands of Canadian soldiers fought and died for. They fought for liberty and the rule of law.
Do not forsake them.
