Police dog aids in capturing suspect
Police dog Flex was recently successful in assisting with the capture of a suspect in Oshawa.
Flex caught the male suspect as he attempted to run from officers.
On Jan. 15, at approximately 4 a.m., officers were called to a disturbance near a residence on Tresane Street in Oshawa. Police spoke to two people who were involved in a heated verbal altercation on the street.
Police were speaking to the involved parties and one gave officers a false name. When officers found out his true identity, the suspect shoved an officer and fled on foot.
Flex was deployed and he quickly apprehended the fleeing suspect.
The suspect was wanted by three other police agencies in the GTA on several outstanding warrants.
The suspect suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The 32-year-old male was charged with obstruct police officer and escape lawful custody.
