Pair of prospects commit to Generals
Goaltender Barrett Mundell and defender Matt Stoia, a pair of newly drafted prospects, have committed to the team.
Mundell, chosen in the 11th round of the 2015 Priority Selection, currently plays with the Mississauga Reps midget AA team in the Greater Toronto Hockey League.
“We are excited to have Barrett commit to the club, he will give us future depth at the goaltender position,” states Roger Hunt, vice-president and general manager of the Generals, in a news release. “We are looking forward to seeing him compete for a job with the Generals.”
Stoia, a six-foot, 176-pound Michigan native, was drafted in the 12th round in 2015 and is currently playing in the Compuware U16 program with 16 points in 20 games.
“Matt impressed us during training camp, he went back to play in Michigan and has continued to grow and improve his game,” Hunt states. “He is a big right-handed defenceman who we are excited to have in the stable.”
