Oshawa’s cannabis store waiting for approval to open

The owner of a retail cannabis store set to open in Oshawa says it is a “week-to-week” situation before the store will open.
“We are finalizing our paper work,” Jacob Stevens, president of Thornhill-based company Tripsetter Inc. told The Oshawa Express April 2.
Stevens said there are many variables at play and he is just “focused on getting it open.”
“It’s a process and we’re at the end of the process,” he said.
Despite plans for Ontario’ 25 retail cannabis stores to be opened by April 1, only 10 have been approved to open – three in Ottawa, two in Kingston, and one apiece in St. Catharines, Brampton, London, Burlington and Toronto.
The application for the store in Oshawa was approved earlier this year, and was granted to open at 575 Laval Drive under the name Fabulous Leaf.
The other approved Durham retail store, located in Ajax, has yet to open as well.
