Oshawa man wins $100K

One Oshawa resident has an extra $100,000 to add to his name, thanks to some matching numbers.

Ryan Simmonds was the lucky winner after matching six of seven numbers on his ENCORE selection for the Feb. 3 Lotto 6/49 draw.

“I was on a break at work and decided to head to the store to check a few tickets,” states Simmons in a news release.

“When the words ‘Big Winner’ appeared on the ticket checker, I couldn’t believe it so I scanned it again and again!”

Simmonds, who just started an apprenticeship program to become an auto mechanic, says he can now purchase all of his tools and focus more on his learning, as opposed to juggling jobs in order to support himself.

Of course, Simmonds has big plans for the future as well.

“My long term goal is to own my own home, so I will be putting aside some of this money for a down payment. I also plan to check off one of my bucket list items with a trip to Aruba. This win is such a blessing.”
