Oshawa man charged in Toronto gang sweep
An Oshawa man is among the 50-plus people charged in a Toronto police operation targeting the Heart of a King gang.
In total, police executed 42 search warrants in early morning raids on Thursday, June 2 across the GTA as part of Project Sizzle. Arrests were also made in Montreal. In total, police seized more than $45,000 in cash, 19 handguns and a rifle.
In a news conference, Toronto police chief Mark Saunders says more charges are expected as part of this operation.
A 41-year-old Oshawa male has been hit with weapons trafficking, firearms possession, robbery and drug trafficking charges in connection with this operation.
