One man arrested after double stabbing

The Durham Regional Police have arrested one man after two people were stabbed early in the morning on Aug. 9.

Officers responded to the area of Adelaide Avenue West and Arena Street in Oshawa around 12:30 a.m. and found the first victim, a 33-year-old man with critical injuries. A second victim, a 50-year-old man, was found nearby also suffering from critical injuries. He was transported to a Toronto-area hospital while the first victim was taken to a local hospital. According to police, both men are in stable condition.

Police found the suspect nearby and he was taken into custody. It is believed all three males are known to each other.

A 32-year-old man of Gliddon Avenue in Oshawa is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was held for a bail hearing.
