Math challenge adds up to fun

Students from across the region will be showing off their math skills, and have some fun while doing it.

Grade 9 math students in the Durham District School Board have been invited to the Great Math Discovery Quest, taking place today, Oct. 7, at the school board’s headquarters in Whitby.

The half-day event will see students showing off their mathematic might through various quests to find their own solutions to hands-on challenges.

There are no marks at stake, with the activities geared towards fostering problem solving skills in a fun atmosphere.
