Man has his car taken away
An Oshawa man has had his driver’s license and car taken away after driving nearly 60 km/h over the speed limit in Guelph.
Shortly after 11 p.m. on Monday, April 18, Guelph police saw a motor vehicle speeding south on the Hanlon Parkway. When the car went through the intersection of Hanlon and College Avenue West, an officer took a radar reading of the vehicle. The car was going 129 km/h in a 70 km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped without incident shortly after.
A 22-year-old Oshawa male was charged with speeding and stunt driving as a result of this incident. According to Guelph police, the driver has had his driver’s license suspended for seven days and had his vehicle seized for seven days.
