Man attempts to rob restaurant, forgets ID
An Oshawa man is facing charges after an attempted robbery at a restaurant.
At approximately 7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28, police responded to Wing It on Simcoe Street North near Bond for an attempted robbery. According to police, a male suspect had entered the store and asked about the meal specials. However, he refused to pay, becoming agitated and threatening the employee. Police say the male indicated he was carrying a gun.
The employee called police and the suspect left the store. However, the male left his health card on the store counter.
There were no reported physical injuries during the robbery.
A 25-year-old male of Phillip Murray Avenue has been charged with robbery and failure to comply with a probation order in connection with this incident.
