Images released of laundry room thief

Durham police have released these images of a suspect wanted for twice attempting to pry his way into a coin box in an apartment building’s laundry room.
Police are turning to the public to help them identify a male suspect wanted for attempting to steal cash from an apartment laundry room.
Durham police responded to an apartment building in the area of Albert Street and Olive Avenue on Oct. 18 and Oct. 29 after receiving a call that someone had gone into a basement laundry room and damaged the coin box for the machines. According to police, a suspect can be seen on video forcing his way into the locked room and then attempting to pry open the electronic coin box.
While he was unsuccessful in both of his attempts, the prying caused approximately $500 in damages each time. Police say he also stole items from a nearby vending machine.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 30 years old and six feet tall with a thin build. In both incidents, the suspect can be seen carrying a grey and red backpack.
