Gas station attendant robbed
Durham police are searching for a suspect after a gas station attendant was assaulted and robbed over the weekend.
Police responded to the Global Gas station on Taunton Road East at approximately 9 p.m. for a robbery that had just taken place. According to police, a male suspect entered the station kiosk and demanded cash. The 60-year-old victim inside was repeatedly punched until falling to the ground, at which point the suspect stole cash out of his pockets before fleeing. The suspect was last seen going westbound. A witness at the scene ran after the suspect, but lost sight of him.
The victim suffered minor injuries and did not require medical attention.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 35 years old, five feet and six inches tall with a thin build and short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a green hooded jacket.
