Fill an empty bowl
For the second year, some of the region’s top chefs will be teaming up to help fight hunger.
The second-annual Durham’s Empty Bowls fundraiser, coordinated by Feed the Need in Durham, is currently set for Oct. 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
City councillor Dan Carter is set to take the stage as the event’s guest speaker at 1 p.m.
“This is our second year to hold the Empty Bowls fundraiser and following its success last year it has evolved to a whole new level in 2015” states Ben Earle, Feed the Need’s executive director, in a news release. “With the support of many Durham Region businesses, including a celebrity chef and a guest speaker, we are anticipating more than doubling event attendance this year.”
Tickets for this event are available through the Feed the Need office or at durhamsemptybowls.eventbrite.com.
