Female driver seriously injured in crash
A 70-year-old Oshawa woman was seriously injured when her vehicle swerved into the path of a van in Oshawa.
On Dec. 12, at approximately 7 a.m., officers from East Division were called to the scene of a head-on collision involving two vehicles on Harmony Road, south of Rossland Road.
Witnesses said a red Kia Rio was northbound in the passing lane of Harmony Road when it suddenly veered into the southbound lane, striking a blue Dodge Caravan.
The female driver in the Kia sustained critical injuries and was transported to a Toronto trauma unit. The driver of the Dodge Caravan sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
Members of the Durham Regional Police Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit, attended the collision scene and assisted with the investigation. The roadway was closed while evidence was collected.
Charges are pending in the investigation.
