Local History Spotlight - There can be unique challenges to tracing one’s family history if they have African heritage. Free Public Skate - Join Whitby and Brooklin Vision Care for a free skate from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The skate will take place at Delpark Homes Centre, 1661 Harmony Rd. N., on Community Rink Pad 2. Leisure skate admission policies will apply. It is mandatory for children five years and under to wear a CSA approved hockey helmet, it is also highly recommended for all other skaters.

Sunday FUNday - Handwriting is becoming something of a lost art, but the workers at the Oshawa Museum can teach you. Learn cursive handwriting just as a Victorian child would have, using pen and ink. Examine handwriting and drawing books real kids used in the 1900s. The lesson runs from noon to 4 p.m. at Guy House, 1450 Simcoe St. S., and is free to attend.

Classic Movie Night

Classic Movie Night – At 7:30 p.m., residents are invited to view Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) starring Harrison Ford, Karen Allen, and Paul Freeman at the Regent Theatre, 50 King St. E. The movie is rated PG and is one hour and 55 minutes. Admission is $5 (cash at door), and all children and students get in free. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and high school, college and university students must show student ID.
