Early access to grants for Atria
Similar to a development down the road, the Atria apartments currently springing up beside the courthouse are getting access to their grants funds a little earlier than planned.
In similar fashion to the development of the downtown Holiday Inn Express, the builder of the 12-storey apartment building is set to receive half of its $100,000 building permit fee grant once the shell of the building is complete.
Typical grants under the city’s community improvement programs require a project be completed before funds are released. However, a city report states this action is appropriate, “given the significant construction that would be completed at that point.”
The remaining half of the grant would be given following the completion.
