Drugs and gun seized
An Oshawa man is facing several weapons and drugs charges after a raid at a home over the weekend.
Members of Durham police’s Gun and Gang Enforcement Unit, along with the Tactical Support Unit and K-9 team, executed a search warrant at an Oshawa residence in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 4 as part of an ongoing investigation.
Inside, police found a combat-style 12 gauge shotgun, more than half a kilo of marijuana, 10 grams of magic mushrooms, $5,500 in Canadian currency, assorted drug paraphernalia and a BB gun. Police say the estimated street value of the drugs found is $8,500.
A male suspect was arrested without incident at the scene.
A 32-year-old male of Grassmere Avenue has been charged with possession of a restricted firearm with no license or registration, possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking and three counts breaching a peace bond.
