City shelling out for 13 new vehicles

The city has approved a tender for nearly $800,000 for 13 new vehicles for the city’s operations and fire services departments.

The order includes 11 pick-ups, including four with power tailgates, one with an extended box, and five with salters and snow plows. The order also includes a pair of Chevrolet Equinoxes.

Based on two bids received, the contract was awarded to Alex Williamson Motors.

The new vehicles are to replace those at their end of their life and will be sold off through an online auction.
