Child porn charges after teen brought to Oshawa to go into sex trade

Police have arrested a suspect after a teen was brought to Oshawa to perform sexual acts for money.

Charges are pending against one man and police are seeking another suspect after a Mississauga teen was brought to Oshawa to work in the sex trade.

At approximately 2 a.m. on Oct. 8, 2016, police were called to an Oshawa hotel by a teen in distress. According to the victim, she had met two males and a female in downtown Toronto and they drove to Oshawa. One of the males, who operates under the name Rondo, befriended the teen and convinced her to work in the sex trade. After getting a hotel room, the male began to arrange for customers to engage in sex acts with the teen for money.

After some time, the victim was able to get in touch with police.

Police have now arrested one suspect in connection with this case. Investigators want to ensure there are no other victims.

A 20-year-old male of Jonesridge Drive in Ajax has been charged with obtaining sexual services for consideration under 18, material benefit from sexual services from person under 18, procuring/recruiting a person under 18 to provide sexual services, procuring/exercising control over a person under 18, advertising another person’s sexual services, telecommunication agreement to commit specific criminal offences with another under 18, making child pornography, distributing child pornography and inviting/counseling sexual exploitation of a young person.
