Charges laid after assault with a steel rod
An Oshawa male is facing assault charges following an incident in the city.
Durham police were called to a residence in the area of Etna and Ritson roads at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10 after receiving reports of a male bleeding from the head.
According to police, a suspect was causing a disturbance in the home and got into an argument with the victim, leading to the victim being hit in the head with a steel rod. Police say they do not believe this was a random incident.
The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries and has since been released.
A 32-year-old Oshawa male has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon in connection with this incident.
