Caught in the act
A suspect is facing several charges after police arrived at a convenience store just in time to catch someone breaking in.
Police responded to a convenience store on Park Road South shortly after 3 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1 after receiving a call from a citizen who had seen a suspect breaking the glass at two businesses at the plaza. Once on scene, police were able to make contact with the suspect inside the convenience store, leading him to leave the store and be taken into custody.
Police found glass storefronts on both the convenience store and a nearby pizza shop had been broken.
A 49-year-old Oshawa male has been charged with two counts of break and enter with intent and one count of possession of break and enter instruments in connection with this incident.
