Assault charge in Port Hope

An Oshawa woman is facing an assault charge after a disturbance in a Port Hope home over the long weekend.

Port Hope police were called to a residence in the town’s north end before 1 p.m. on May 20 for a disturbance. According to police, a woman got into a verbal argument that later turned physical. Police say the victim in this incident was the son of the home owner.

A 47-year-old Oshawa woman has been charged with common assault in connection with this incident.
