Annual Durham Region auction this weekend
Local residents have a chance to pick up some deals and help the region clear out some space at the same time with the 45th annual Durham Region auction.
Auction items can be previewed on Friday, Sept. 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 29, the gates will open at 8 a.m., with the auction beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The list of available items is not yet complete, but examples include office furniture such as desks, chairs, tables and cabinets; vehicles such as cars, vans and trucks; large generators; heavy equipment; lawn equipment; televisions and kitchen equipment.
Proceeds from the auction are used by the region and its lower-tier municipalities for ongoing operations.
Purchases can be made with cash or debit. High-cost items and motorized equipment can be put on hold with a $500 deposit, payable by cash, debit, bank draft or certified cheque.
The remaining balance must be paid before picking up the items.
All purchases can be picked up after the auction, but no later than Monday, Oct. 1 at 3 p.m.
All items are sold ‘as is’ and the region does not inspect items or provide any warranty or guarantee on the items sold.
The auction takes place at the Durham Region works depot located at 825 Conlin Road in Whitby.
