Gens bring in another forward
Jacob Winterton joins team
The Oshawa Generals have added forward Jacob Winterton to its ranks through a trade with the Flint Firebirds.
In exchange for Winterton, the Generals traded an eighth round draft selection in 2023.
Winterton is coming off his first season in the Ontario Hockey League, appearing in 67 games for the Firebirds recording 11 goals and ten assists for 21 points.
The 5’11, 164 lb. right shot forward is from Durham Region, having played minor hockey for the Ajax/Pickering Raiders.
“Adding Jacob to our roster improves our list of players from the 2001 birth class. He is coming into his own and we are excited to see how he progresses as a player,” said Generals vice president and general manager Roger Hunt. “He now gets an opportunity to play close to home and any time you get a chance to play for your hometown team, it’s always an exciting time. I know Jacob will be just as excited as we are.”
Winterton will wear number 21 with the team.
