SUMMARY:OHS Speaker Series
DESCRIPTION:OHS Speaker Series – World War II\, prisoners of war\, and the Battle of Bowmanville. When it began as a boys training school in the 1920s\, it was considered to be the most progressive institution of its kind in Canada. World War II brought a new importance to the school when it was used as Prisoner of War Camp 30\, housing German prisoners of war captured by the Allies. Dr. Amy Barron of the Clarington Museums will delve into the history of Bowmanville’s Camp 30 at 7 p.m. at the Arts Resource Centre\, located at 45 Queen St.\, Oshawa. Admission to the Oshawa Historical Society Speaker Series is $3 per person or free for members of the Oshawa Historical Society. \n  \n\n\n	Related
