Durham Region Film Festival returns

The Durham Region Film Festival is coming back for a second go round.

The second-annual festival is set to take place Sept. 16 to 18, with screenings and other activities at Oshawa’s Regent Theatre and Robert McLaughlin Gallery, as well as at the Docville movie set in Clarington and the St. Francis Centre for Community, Arts and Culture in Ajax.

“Durham Region has provided the settings and landmarks for successful television and film productions for many years, and these productions help contribute to our local economy,” states Kathy Weiss, the region’s director of economic development and tourism, in a news release.

“We aim to build upon the success of the inaugural 2015 festival and shine the spotlight on Durham, as we continue to build partnerships to bring more productions to the region.”
