Woman’s life saved with Narcan

Durham police were able to successfully save the life of an Oshawa woman who had overdosed on fentanyl.

At approximately 7:45 p.m. on Friday, May 26, police were called to assist an ambulance at an apartment building on Richmond Street. At the scene, police found a 23-year-old female was found without vital signs. Officers quickly administered Narcan, which helps slow down the reactions caused by an opioid overdose, and administered CPR. The female was revived and taken to hospital.

Police say they believe the female had taken fentanyl, resulting in the overdose.
