Woman stabbed in tenants’ dispute

Two people are facing charges after an argument between the residents of a multi-tenant building broke out into a fight.

Police were called to a residence near Ritson Road and Highway 401 at approximately 11:55 p.m. on Sunday, March 13 following reports of an armed person. On arrival, police located several injured people.

According to police, the basement tenants of the unit were moving out when a fight broke out with the tenants from the main level of the unit. One male assaulted another male as he was getting into his vehicle. When two females intervened and attempted to pull him off the victim, they were both punched.

Police also say a woman was stabbed with a drywall saw during the disturbance. She suffered minor injuries.

A 40-year-old Oshawa male has been charged with three counts of assault.

A 24-year-old Toronto female has been charged with assault with a weapon and possession a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
