Woman stabbed at Memorial Park

A woman suffered life-threatening injuries after being stabbed at Memorial Park, and police are seeking the public’s help in finding out who did it.

An officer was flagged down by citizens in the park at Simcoe Street South and John Street at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15. They were helping a female who had just been stabbed, with eyewitnesses saying she was confronting a male in the park who then assaulted her.

The suspect was seen with three other males, who fled in different directions after the stabbing.

The victim was taken to a local hospital before being airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30s, approximately five feet and six inches tall with a thin build and light brown hair, and was last seen wearing a beige shirt and long pants.
